The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization that encourages informed and active citizen participation in government, works to increase understanding of public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Members educate themselves on issues, lobby for causes for which the League has a position, and extend information to others through public forums, educational publications, coalitions, and public speaking. The League encourages communication with elected officials, and promotes citizen participation in the democratic process.
